Strategic Grant Review Policy

Please read the following Strategic Grant Review Policy carefully before agreeing to the service.

Policy

The full Strategic Grant Review process includes:

  • a pre-review Resubmission Strategy Session

  • Round 1 review (requires at minimum Specific Aims page and 12-page Research Strategy documents and, where applicable, a 1-page Introduction to the Resubmission)

  • Round 1 follow-up call with your assigned editor

  • Round 2 review (requires at minimum Specific Aims page and 12-page Research Strategy documents and, where applicable, a 1-page Introduction to the Resubmission)

  • Round 2 follow-up call with your assigned editor

We will provide you with options for start dates for Round 1 and Round 2 of your Strategic Grant Review. Once you choose your start dates and sign your personal Deadline Agreement, those start dates are considered final and may not be changed.

Our guaranteed turnaround time for each round of review is 10 (ten) business days.

Since our Strategic Grant Review service works around fixed deadlines from an external institution (NIH and/or your academic institution), time is of the essence. We require the full 10 business days to complete our strategic review process so that we are able to provide you with recommendations to make your grant more competitive.

If we do not have your documents on time, we are unable to do our job. If you do not provide your grant documents on or before the agreed start date for your Round 1 or Round 2 review, your turnaround time is no longer guaranteed and you forfeit that round of review. You also forfeit the opportunity to undertake another Strategic Grant Review at no charge if your submission does not receive a fundable score.

We do not make recommendations on the scientific or technical merit of your proposal because we aren’t subject matter experts (you are). We expect that you have advice from collaborators, colleagues, and mentors to enhance the scientific and technical merit of your application. 

We will not make any in-line changes that may affect the meaning of any technical language in your document. We will offer recommendations in the margins rather than make specific changes.

We do not write or re-write parts of your application; we offer recommendations that will make your application more competitive. You are engaging our expertise to make recommendations that will improve the persuasiveness and clarity of your grant proposal.

We will return your review by the end of the business day on the date outlined in the Deadline Agreement (Company Deadline). You’ll get an email notifying you that everything is ready.

We may use feedback from you to promote services to others and/or request to use our work together as a case study (while maintaining the confidentiality of our work).

By reading this policy, you understand that it is your responsibility to provide your grant documents to us on or before the deadlines you agree to. You understand that if you do not provide your grant documents by your agreed-upon deadlines, the 10-day guaranteed turnaround time is void. You understand that failing to provide documents by the agreed deadlines may result in the forfeiture of one or both rounds of review. You understand that failing to provide documents by the agreed deadlines will result in the forfeiture of our promise to provide an additional Strategic Grant Review service at no cost to you if your grant application does not receive a fundable score.

Payment Schedule

  • 50% deposit is required to secure your Strategic Grant Review

  • We accept credit card and electronic funds-transfer (ACH) payments. Our preferred method of payment is credit card/purchase card payments submitted via the link in our invoice.

  • We send the invoice for the final balance upon delivery of first round of review
